Wistleford · The Cotswolds
A modern British tavern
with an open fire and a warm welcome
Seasonal plates, proper Sunday roasts and a cellar worth lingering over — served in a 17th-century coaching inn.
Our Story
Good food, unhurried, in the heart of the village
The Gilded Hare began life as a coaching inn on the old drovers' road, and we've spent the last decade coaxing it back to life. These days it's part dining room, part local — a place where a walking party can share small plates by the fire and neighbours can settle in for the long Sunday lunch.
Our kitchen cooks to the seasons and to the county. We work with growers and graziers within a morning's drive, cure and bake in-house, and keep the menu short so everything on it earns its place. Nothing fussy — just careful, generous British cooking.
- Cotswold-sourced produce & pasture-raised meat
- House-baked sourdough & puddings
- A cellar of English wine & small-batch ales
